From Overlooked to Funded: How One Alberta Manufacturer Discovered $347,000 in Eligible Funding
A mid-sized Alberta manufacturing company had been operating for over a decade. Leadership recognized that various government funding programs could support their initiatives, but no one on the team had the time or expertise to explore a suitable funding strategy for their specific needs. They had previously tried one of the widely available online grant databases, which provided a lengthy list of programs based on their industry code and province. However, it failed to specify which programs were relevant to their specific hiring plan, R&D expenditures, or capital investment timeline. As a result, the list remained unread in a folder.

What happened next
The Canada Job Grant was approved: $28,500 received. The Alberta Innovates application was approved for $50,000. The SR&ED claim was prepared with the assistance of a specialized accounting firm and submitted with the annual tax return, resulting in over $190,000 in credits.
