A Pattern I Saw Over and Over
After over two decades in the trenches—founding companies, consulting, and scaling startups—I’ve learned that failure isn’t mysterious. It’s usually earned. I’ve made my share of hard calls and wrong turns. Over time, you start seeing the patterns: companies collapse not because of bad luck, but because of weak foundations, unclear direction, or building something no one truly needs. Those lessons aren’t regrets—they’re reps. And they’ve shaped how I build now: with clarity, precision, and relentless execution on what actually matters.
From Friction to Flow
The deeper I went, the more I saw the same issues surface across industries and founders: companies trying to scale chaos, chasing too many things at once, duct-taping operations together, not plugging the leaks of big risks, and bleeding time or capital in the process. In many cases, my value as a consultant couldn’t fully be realized—not because the ideas weren’t sound, but because the core structure was flawed before I even stepped in. That’s when I knew I needed a different model. One where we control the foundation, apply proven systems, and build for resilience—not rescue.
Where the Idea Sparked
The spark for Stragentic came during a retreat deep in the interior mountains of British Columbia. No phones. No distractions. Just mountain air, firelight, French press coffee, and the kind of clarity that only comes when you unplug everything else.
I was surrounded by a small group of like-minded operators—smart, seasoned, and deeply curious. We played cards, had a couple cigars, and spent hours talking about business, automation, and where the world is heading. It's ironic, in a way - the genesis of a high leverage, AI powered company happened in a place with no cell service, no tech and nothing but time to think. AI came up again and again—equal parts exciting and unsettling. From WarGames to Skynet, we joked about the doomsday scenarios. But beneath it all, we knew: AI isn’t coming. It’s already here.
What hit us hardest was how perfectly AI fits into the exact places where companies are most broken. Repetitive inefficiencies, decision-making bottlenecks, bloated processes—this is where AI thrives. Whats equally important, It doesn’t replace humans. It removes friction. And when paired with smart strategy, it becomes an engine for scale.
That weekend planted the seed. I came home knowing it was time to build something new.
The Philosophy Behind the Name
Why “Stragentic”?
The name is a fusion of two words: Strategy and Agentic.
“Strategy” reflects the operating system we bring to every business—clear models, sharp structure, and focused execution.
“Agentic” speaks to the future: intelligent agents that act autonomously to execute decisions, tasks, and systems without human intervention.
Stragentic isn’t just a company name. It’s a philosophy.
We believe businesses of the future will be system-first, AI-enabled, and designed for leverage from day one. The name may feel unfamiliar today—but like SaaS, Fintech, and Blockchain before it, it’s where we’re headed.
What We’re Building Now
Stragentic is a business development company designed for the modern economy. We:
• Acquire and optimize underperforming companies by applying AI, systems thinking, and strategic automation
• Build AI-powered tools and consumer brands that solve real-world problems in efficient, scalable ways
• Replace complexity with clarity, inefficiency with automation, and scattered effort with focused execution
Our goal isn’t just growth—it’s sustainable, systematized success.
And we don’t just advise—we build, own, and operate.
About the Founder
I’m Jason Dagenais, P.Eng.—a builder, investor, and executive with over $1.4 billion in capital projects behind me and a career rooted in execution.
I’ve founded and led multiple startups, advised dozens of companies, and raised over $30 million in capital. I’ve closed deals north of $250 million and have helped both build and exit companies in industries from energy to tech to consumer products.
Some of those ventures crashed hard. Others paid off well. And every single one taught me to see clearer, think sharper, and move faster.
My superpower? Taking underperforming, disorganized, or stagnant businesses—and turning them into systems that scale.
Looking Forward
Stragentic is just getting started—but the vision is long-range.
We believe:
• AI isn’t hype—it’s infrastructure.
• Strategy beats speed.
• And winning should be engineered, not left to chance.
If you’re a founder, investor, operator, or builder who sees what’s coming and wants to be part of it—let’s talk.
